Cami or camisole?

The camisole top or as it is more often called the cami is a piece of womens designer lingerie that is loose-fitting and has no sleeves. The camisole top covers the upper body and is shorter than the chemise. The camisole finishes at the waist but can be cropped to leave the midriff exposed or can cover the hips. Some camisoles are sheer and are often made from satin or silk but camis also come in stretch fabrics such as lycra. Sheer camisoles are very sexy and cami sets are often made up with boy shorts, knickers or a thong.

Womens camisole generally have delicate straps, called spaghetti straps and may be worn without a bra. Some women wear a bra underneath the camisole though this is not always necessary as modern camisoles often have a built-in underwire bra. Camisoles are now popularly worn as outerwear with jeans or a skirt.
