Happy St Patrick's Day!
To most of us St Patrick's Day includes heading down to the pub and drinking pints of Guinness whilst wearing something green. But there's a bit more to it than that.
For those who don't know Saint Patrick's Day or the Feast of Saint Patrick, this is a cultural and religious holiday celebrated annually on 17th March, the death date of the most commonly-recognised patron saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick.
This day commemorates Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland, as well as celebrates the heritage and culture of the Irish in general. Celebrations involve public parades, festivals and the wearing of green clothing or shamrocks.
