No, No, No to Ho Ho Ho

Santa?s Banned From Ho Ho Hoing in Australia

Australian Santa?s have been banned from saying ?Ho ho ho?.

Recruitment company Westaff is responsible for supplying most of Australia?s shopping mall Santas. This year the company is urging its Father Christmases (or should that be Fathers Christmas?) to change their traditional expression of festive delight from ?Ho, ho ho? to ?Ha, ha, ha.?

Two Santa trainees on a Westaff course in Adelaide reportedly left the group after the ?Ho? ban was announced. Another Santa said, ?We were told [the word ?ho?] was a derogatory term for females and can upset people. As far as I?m concerned, a hoe is something you dig the ground with.?

Westaff national operations manager, Glen Jansz, claims that the company?s Santas are being asked to skip the ?ho ho hos? ? not for fear of offending anyone ? but because the phrase can frighten small children.

?We find that in some cases the little kids can get a little bit scared of the deep ho, ho, hos [?] And kids are probably more inclined to understand ?ha, ha, ha?, than ?ho, ho, ho?.?

Errr? Storm, teacup, anyone?

Next they?ll make it illegal to eat mince pies on Christmas Day? No, wait they already passed that law in Britain
