Lingerie-loving female lawyers from City firm Clifford Chance have been offered a £90 lingerie allowance if they work past 11pm on a weekday, The Guardian newspaper has reported. The so called ’90 nicker knicker allowance’ shows that the firm are bucking the trend in reduced expense claims. The idea is that if employees have to work late into the night, they can go shopping for fresh lingerie and clothes to get them through the next day. Business is so hectic, that the firm have also added sleeping pods to the office for employees to get some rest.
The article recommends that lawyers’ looking for quality and elegance use their allowance on designer lingerie sets from What Katie Did. The label which is available at Mio Destino, offers beautiful and practical bras and corsetry to create a great shape under work wear. Selfridge’s lingerie buyer said in response to this, “Always aim to balance practicality and trend led elegance. The right underwear gives a sleek silhouette - essential under work wear shapes – as well as being comfortable and stylish.”
Bloggers commenting on the article, include female lawyers who work at Clifford Chance and state that the news is not true. So unfortunately, the idea of a lingerie allowance may in fact be an urban myth. However if it wasn't then the ladies of law could purchase this elegant set from Mimi Holliday or this adorable set from Miss La La Presents.
