Paris gets our knickers in a twist

The whole Paris Hilton prison term story has been so extensively covered in the print, broadcast, and electronic media that it has driven people across the world crazy.

In fact, a Google news search for Paris Hilton jail will yield more hits than a similar search for stories on Gordon Brown becoming the Prime Minister.

The in-court and in-jail antics of the blonde billionairess generated such a massive public interest that Mio Destino created their own range of Free Paris and Jail Paris underwear. Even these unique tribute knickers became the subject of global news gossip. UK national newspapers pictured our pants; popular Russian magazines Cosmo and Grazia and the renowned El Mundo covered our underwear and radio stations across the US discussed our drawers.

The Paris brief (!), however, became too much for one MSNBC reporter. Mika Brzezinski famously refused to recount the story one more time, trying to burn the paper script before managing to rip it. Comments on the clip, now a Youtube classic, show that the public, too, are now incredibly bored of Miss Hilton. Perhaps we should pop her back inside and throw away the key.
