In line with the trend amongst lingerie designers to keep the boundaries of design limitless, like Zonta Award Winner Tessa Benham or Mio Destino’s Yes Master, MTV’s recently crowned 2009 international Female solo singer Katy Perry has been caught on the red carpet revealing her unique underwear/daywear concoction along with her plans for a new lingerie line.
In stark contrast with traditional feminist views that cement sewing firmly in the domain of point less activity, Katy is looking to tap into the feeling of innovative designs such as those seen at the recent Cheltenham horse racing for example. Her influences include couture Hello Kitty corsets and Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B range. Katy is sure to set catwalks alight with her unique styling techniques but she did make it clear that there will be at least a two year wait for couture clothing to appear.
Her pursuit of perfection obviously begs the question whether her range will still be in fashion on release day or be a dried out PVC throw back. Despite this her recent appearances at the Brit awards show that her style is as forward thinking as the Vivienne Westwood or Wolford’s of this world.
